The Kremlin has commented on the fact that Ruben Vardanyan, a businessman of Armenian origin, who arrived in Azerbaijan illegally and worked as a "state minister" of the so-called regime, was detained by Azerbaijani border guards and brought to Baku, Paralel.Az’s Moscow correspondent reports.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that he did not have such information.

"No, I don't have that information, so I can't say anything about it... I don't know if he was detained. I don't know who was detained, whether he was detained at all and whether he has Russian citizenship," the Kremlin spokesman said while commenting on the news about Vardanyan's detention.

Peskov also added that if Vardanyan had Russian citizenship, then his rights will be protected in Russia.

Note that on September 27 the State Border Service of Azerbaijan detained Ruben Vardanyan who illegally entered Azerbaijan and served as the so-called "State Minister of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh" at the "Lachin" border check-point and was brought to Baku.
