EU did not receive letter asking to recognize Russian COVID certificates
EU Ambassador Ederer: "Moscow should send a request for EU recognition of Russia's certificates"
Moscow should send a request to the European Union (EU) for the recognition of Russia's solid certificates, reports Paralel.az. EU Ambassador Markus Ederer told a press conference in the Russian capital that the EU had not received such a letter.
The diplomat said that the parties discussed the mutual recognition of certificates in October 2021. During the meeting, Russia confirmed its intention to reach an agreement, but did not send a request to the EU.
Mutual recognition of COVID-certificates will allow vaccinated citizens of European countries and Russia to make mutual visits without providing additional documents. In addition, such an agreement will relieve Moscow of the need to recognize the Sputnik V vaccine by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
