Macron demanded the release of French prisoners from Iran

In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Ibrahim Raisi, French President Emmanuel Macron called for the immediate release of French citizens detained in Iran.
A Reuters correspondent quoted the Élysée as saying: “Macron has demanded the immediate release of Fariba Adelhi, Franco-Iranian university student and French tourist Benjamin Breuer, who was re-arrested in Iran in January. "Benjamin Breuer was sentenced to eight years in prison in Iran on Tuesday for espionage."
A French presidential spokesman said on Sunday that Macron had discussed the nuclear deal with President Ibrahim. Macron stressed that an agreement could still be reached to lift sanctions against Iran if it curtailed its nuclear activities, but nuclear talks needed to be accelerated.
