The New Yorker writes about US-Russian relations

 

The New Yorker reported on US-Russian relations: “In order to successfully manage relations with Russia, the US must take the actions that have led to the current crisis in the dialogue between Moscow, Washington and Brussels.
According to author Joshua Jaffe, NATO expansion into the former Warsaw Pact countries was seen by the United States as an obvious and integral part of the promotion of freedom and security on the continent.
Mary Elise Sarotte, professor of history at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies, disagrees. He writes that the glacier slowly slides down the slopes, but deeply changes large areas. NATO's eastward expansion forced it to change and transform elements of the post-Cold War political landscape.
