Taliban militants who seized political power in Afghanistan suppressed resistance forces in Panjshir province.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid announced this on Twitter.
He noted that the Taliban are trying to resolve the issue peacefully.
Earlier, the Taliban issued an ultimatum to the son of the legendary field commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, who controlled the Panjshir Gorge, and gave him four hours to surrender to the province.
However, Ahmad Massoud rejected this ultimatum.
