The real goal of the upcoming visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Kiev is to save the Minsk process, Paralel.az reports. This opinion was expressed by the Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev: “He is going to save Minsk. This is the last case in exchange for an agreement on the transit of the gas transportation system of Ukraine.
According to Karasev, Merkel spoke with US President George Biden about the Minsk process during her recent visit to Washington. The deal proposed by Merkel is four-way: Ukraine, Russia, Germany and the United States.
According to the political scientist, the extension of the agreement on the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, as well as the establishment of peace in the Donbas, also means the normalization of relations with the Russian Federation.
