The fourth wave of coronavirus has started in Italy

 

The Italian Gimbe Foundation, which is independently monitoring the situation with COVID-19, said that a fourth wave of coronavirus has swept Italy. The Corriere della Sera newspaper reported on Thursday.
According to the Foundation, on July 21-27, the number of deaths due to re-coronavirus infection in Italy increased. Earlier, for 15 consecutive weeks, this figure was declining in the country.
In addition, there was a 64% increase in COVID-19 infections last week (up from 31,963 the previous week's 19,390). At present, the number of patients in intensive care units in Italian hospitals has increased by 14.5%.
As of July 28, 11.3% of the Italian population had received one dose of COVID-19 and 52.3% had received both doses.
