Karabakh Armenians want to sell their property to Azerbaijanis
Despite Baku's statements in the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), the construction of apartments for Armenians began in the 44-day war, whose settlements came under the control of Azerbaijan. The message from Baku is that Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan, and people living there must obey the laws of the country. However, construction continues at a rapid pace. Construction is supported by Armenia, Russia and foreign charitable organizations.
Arshaluis Mgdesyan from Kommersant learned what these people hope for and how they see the future of the region, if sooner or later it is recognized as the territory of Azerbaijan. Everyone with whom the correspondent speaks says that they do not want to live as citizens of Azerbaijan. As for the construction, they said they want it to be continued and provided with housing as soon as possible. One of these residents, Ediuard Logmanyan, says that at least we live in a comfortable apartment: "If Azerbaijanis come, they probably will not come with weapons this time, and we will sell our property."
