The commander of the IDF’s 401st Armored Brigade, Col. Ehsan Daqsa, was killed during fighting in the northern Gaza Strip earlier today, the military announces, Paralel.Az reports citing Times of Israel.

According to an initial IDF probe, Daqsa’s tank and another tank were hit by explosive devices during operations in Jabaliya.

Daqsa is one of the most senior officers to have been killed in the fighting in Gaza.

Another officer was seriously wounded in the same incident.
