Head of State Security Service: Number of power centers in world are interested in re-igniting revanchism and separatism by arming Armenia

"The Republic of Azerbaijan, in the post-war period, is a supporter of peace, coexistence based on the principles of good neighborliness, and the restoration of transport and economic relations in the South Caucasus," said Ali Naghiyev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan's State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, Head of the State Security Service, during his speech at the international conference on "Addressing the problems of missing persons: upholding the right to know for the families", Paralel.Az reports.

He said that a number of power centers in the world are currently interested in increasing tensions in the region, including re-igniting revanchism and separatism by arming Armenia, and they do not hesitate to openly support it: “It seems that such forces do not think about the bitter fate of hundreds of thousands of people who lost their lives, became refugees, IDPs and went missing as a result of the armed conflicts that took place in this region first of all and the armed conflicts are currently ongoing in the world.”

The Chairman if commission drew attention to the fact that Azerbaijan is determined to have mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries in socio-economic, political, humanitarian and other fields in accordance with the norms and principles of international law: “Based on the same principles, the state of Azerbaijan is ready to sign a peace treaty with Armenia in a short period of time. Therefore, the official Yerevan should make amendments to its Constitution and other national legislative acts, which stipulate territorial claims against Azerbaijan. The peace treaty concluded today should completely exclude any territorial claims ever again. The problem of missing persons, which is not only for Azerbaijan, but of a global nature, should seriously concern the relevant international organizations and international political circles. In particular, the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other relevant organizations should pay attention to this issue and take urgent and immediate measures to prevent violent disappearances.”
