Azerbaijan's health ministry urges citizens to get vaccinated against influenza
“In the upcoming autumn-winter season, the spread of acute respiratory viral infections is expected within the country,” this was stated in the call of the Ministry of Health regarding influenza vaccination, Paralel.Az reports.
It was reported that in this regard, in order to strengthen preventive and counter-epidemic measures against influenza and acute respiratory virus infections among the population, the Ministry of Health brought to the country completely safe and high-quality vaccine against seasonal influenza produced by the Abbott company: “According to the relevant Order of the Ministry of Health, vaccination will start on September 10, 2024. It is especially important that healthcare workers, pregnant women, and children over 6 months of age with chronic respiratory diseases who are at high risk for respiratory diseases be vaccinated against influenza in the winter season.
Also, many guests from different countries of around the world are expected to visit Azerbaijan in connection with the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in November of this year.”
“The Ministry of Health, also urges the citizens involved in COP29 events, along with the mentioned population groups, to get vaccinated against seasonal flu in order to protect the health of the population and prevent cases of acute respiratory viral infections. People who want to be vaccinated against influenza can apply to state medical institutions that provide ambulatory polyclinic services to the population at their place of residence or work,” – was stated.
