Armenia removes "Russian language" from list of main subjects in schools
Starting from the new academic year in Armenia, "Russian language" will be removed from the list of languages that must be taught in secondary schools, and will be given the status of a foreign language, Paralel.Az reports citing Sputnik-Armenia.
According to the reports, this change will be made in accordance with the new educational standards that apply.
Currently, the teaching hours of the language in question have already been reduced in secondary general education institutions. So, this language will be taught three times a week in grades 4-9, and twice a week in higher grades.
