ISIS members killed 3 employees of detention center and took several people hostage in Volgograd

 

Inmates at a prison in southern Russia’s Volgograd region have seized control of the facility and taken hostages, with multiple prison staff members injured, Paralel.Az reports citing Russian media.

Prison authorities told the RIA Novosti news agency that the inmate uprising took place at the IK-19 Surovikino penal colony, located around 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) west of the region’s capital city Volgograd.

An unverified photo shared by news channels on the Telegram message app purported to show inmates at the penal colony standing above a bloodied prison guard.

It became known that the prisoners who killed the employees of the detention center in Volgorad were members of ISIS, banned in the Russian Federation.

The videos show that at least 3 people were killed, several others were injured and hostages were taken in prison No. 19.

Among those who took hostages, it was noted that there was one person who was found guilty of terrorism.

Security forces are currently on the scene, special forces are preparing to raid the detention center.
