"As the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), we aim to support the struggle for independence of all peoples who suffered from colonialism," said Abbas Abbasov, the Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) as he was speaking about the structure he is leading at the international conference titled "Bonaire’s Pathway from Baku through United Nations General Assembly to Self-Determination" organized by the Baku Initiative Group and the Bonaire Movement for Human Rights and Change, Paralel.Az reports.

He stated that the Baku Initiative Group has carried out very important works to ensure that the international community is aware of the consequences of France's colonial policies: "We have published a series of reports dedicated to the issue of decolonization up to now. Our organization has worked to inform the international community about the consequences of France’s colonial policies in places such as New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, and Corsica.

We are constantly working in the direction of increasing the awareness of the international community by using the United Nations and other international platforms. We believe that the right of the Boneyra people to self-determination is fundamental and must be ensured."
