WHO outlines key recommendations for Azerbaijan in fight against Mpox

Currently, no cases of monkeypox (Mpox) have been reported in Azerbaijan, the WHO Country Office in Azerbaijan said in response to an inquiry from Paralel.Az.

It was noted that, nevertheless, the WHO continues to recommend that all countries, including Azerbaijan, strengthen their emergency health surveillance and response systems to ensure the early detection and monitoring of any potential outbreaks.

Considering the intensity of travel between countries, if urgent measures are not taken to prevent the spread of the virus, new strains of Mpox have the potential to spread within the European region.
