Hungarian FM: Bureaucrats in Brussels want to make Georgia's accession to EU impossible

"War-oriented politicians want to make Georgia's accession to the European Union (EU) impossible," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Péter Szijjártó said at a joint press conference following a meeting with his Georgian counterpart Ilia Darchiashvili, who is on a visit to Budapest, Paralel.Az's Georgia bureau reports.

"The European Union (EU) should be happy that Georgia wants to join it, and Brussels should do everything possible for Georgia to become a member of the large European family as soon as possible. However, we see that war-supporting politicians and bureaucrats in Brussels want to make Georgia's successful integration into Europe impossible," the Minister stated.

Szijjártó added that the Georgian government has successfully resisted external influence and propaganda, and has been punished by Brussels for this.

"Georgia has families and a government that preserves the traditional family model, and a law has been passed regarding this. Therefore, Brussels has imposed political and financial penalties. Brussels does not like those who do not dance to its tune, those who are against war and gender propaganda," Szijjártó added.
