Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received Chief of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mission in Azerbaijan Troy Dooley, the Ministry told Paralel.Az.

During the meeting, the Chief of Mission presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Bayramov. Minister wished Troy Dooley success in his tenure.

The discussion focused on the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and IOM, as well as issues arising from the preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to be held in Azerbaijan this year.

Noting that Azerbaijan will host COP29 this year, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the importance of cooperation in various fields related to climate change, including migration. He highlighted that Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with the International Organization for Migration in this direction.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
