US State Department reveals that Azerbaijan and Armenia have made progress in Washington meeting

"The United States will spare no effort in its power to continue the achievements of Azerbaijan and Armenia in the issue of the peace agreement,” said U.S. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller during traditional briefing, Paralel.Az reports.

However, he did not disclose the details of the meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia through the mediation of the institution he represents:

“I can say that the parties have come a long way towards reaching a peace agreement. We will encourage the continuation of these discussions from now on. The peace agreement to be signed by both states can benefit both them and security in the region. We believe that in order to sign a peace agreement, the parties must make difficult choices and make fundamental compromises. Therefore, we will work towards eliminating the differences between them and reaching a peace agreement. Although we made progress at the Washington meeting, I don't want to reveal the details. However, a peace agreement has not been signed yet, and we will continue to work in that direction until we achieve it."
