Armenia did not transfer funds to budget of CSTO in 2024, Russia's permanent representative says

"Armenia did not transfer funds to the budget of the CSTO in 2024, but the amount that this country will have to pay for 2025 will be calculated and relevant documents will be sent to the government,” said Viktor Vasiliev, the permanent representative of Russia in the CSTO, Paralel.Az reports citing RIA Novosti.

In a statement issued by the CSTO, it was revealed that Armenia owes the organization 53.22 million rubles (approximately more than AZN 1 million) for this year and the importance of paying the funds was voiced.

It was reported that because the decision that the official Yerevan not paying the money is of a political nature, it will not be commented on.

According to the organization's charter, Russia pays 50% of the annual budget, and the rest is formed on the basis of transfers from other member states.

It should be noted that an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ani Badalyan, made a statement that her country is refusing to transfer funds to the CSTO for 2024. Following this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has previously declared that Armenia has debts to the organization.
