Azerbaijani, Georgian FMs held meeting -UPDATED

 

Within the framework of his official visit to Georgia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Ilia Darchiashvili, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan told Paralel.Az.

The one-on-one meeting between the Ministers was later continued by an expanded meeting with the participation of delegations from both sides.

During the expanded meeting, the political, security, defense, economic-trade, energy, transport-communications, cultural-humanitarian, etc. aspects of the existing strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, current issues on the agenda, as well as the current regional situation were discussed.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information regarding Azerbaijan's Presidency of 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and noted that COP29 also creates additional opportunities for strengthening cooperation with Georgia in this field.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest as well.

Later, the Ministers made statements at the press conference on the results of the meeting.

The meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, who is on a visit to Tbilisi, with his Georgian counterpart Ilia Darchiashvili, has ended, Paralel.Az’s Tbilisi correspondent reports.

According to the information, the Foreign Ministers will make a joint statement to the press soon.

Jeyhun Bayramov is scheduled to have meetings with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, as well as h at the Georgian Parliament within the day.
