EU sanctions 9 Iranian individuals and entities over drones, missiles-UPDATED

 

The European Union on Friday imposed sanctions on six Iranian individuals and three Iranian entities, blaming them for the transfer of drones and missiles to Russia, as well as to other armed groups and entities that are "undermining peace and security in the Middle East and the Red Sea region," Paralel.Az reports citing CGTN

Among those targeted were Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy.

Note that EU governments had agreed to put nine Iranian entities, including Iran's Defence Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani, on its sanctions list for supplying drones to Russia, which Moscow uses in its war against Ukraine.
