28 killed, over 20 injured in bus accident in SW Pakistan
At least 28 people were killed and over 20 others injured on Wednesday morning in a bus accident in the Washuk district of Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, Paralel.Az reports citing Xinhua.
Local police told Xinhua that a bus carrying over 50 passengers fell into a ditch in the Bismia area of the district, leaving 28 people dead, including women and children.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to a nearby hospital.
Medics feared that the death toll might rise further, as several of the injured were in critical condition.
Some passengers with minor injuries reported that a tire on the overspeeding bus burst while the bus was traveling from Turbat city to the southwest provincial capital city of Quetta, police added.
