Armenian Parliament may discuss taxation of Apostolic Church
It was proposed to discuss the issue of including the Armenian Apostolic Church in the tax field in the near future in the Armenian parliament, the Speaker of the Parliament, Alen Simonyan said, Paralel.Az reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
"Stop playing with our emotions and history. And stop doing politics, collecting money from the diaspora, selling candles, Coca-Cola, wine, owning restaurants, and not paying taxes... I want to understand why a clergyman whose hands are being kissed should be superior to an ordinary businessman who pays taxes and hires a patron for the army... For me, the big taxpayers are the most important people. They finance the security of Armenia," he noted.
