Latvia holds official reception on anniversary of diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan
On May 15, an official reception dedicated to May 28 - Independence Day and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia was held by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Latvia at the famous historical-architectural monument House of Black Heads, which is one of the symbols of Riga, the embassy told Paralel.Az.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Latvia, Elnur Sultanov, noted the 106th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first parliamentary secular democratic republic in the Muslim world, and highlighted the realization of the Azerbaijani people's desire to establish an independent state. He also pointed out significant achievements of the Republic during its 23-month existence.
Note that before the official reception, the "Genetic code of memory" of Azerbaijani carpets was presented for the first time in the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Riga, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Latvia and "Azərxalça" OJSC. The opening ceremony of the exhibition "Azerbaijani carpets" was held.
