Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov has met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad of People's Democratic Republic of Algeria within the framework of his visit to the State of Qatar, Azerbaijani MFA told Paralel.Az.

At the meeting, the minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria this year.

The parties underscored the importance of continuation of mutual support for candidacies and initiatives within international organizations as they expressed satisfication with the current level of interaction within international organizations, especially the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The sides also emphasized the importance of developing relations in energy and other fields, and noted the importance of high-level visits and political consultations in this regard.

Azerbaijani Minister also highly appreciated the visit of members of the Algeria-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group to Azerbaijan on April 22-25 of this year as noting the importance of the development of inter-parliamentary relations.

The parties noted the importance of bilateral relations in the energy sector and emphasized the importance of expanding relations in this direction.
It was emphasized that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), to be hosted by Azerbaijan this year, created a favorable opportunity for new areas of cooperation.

Other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
