The State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) acquires about 3 tons of gold in the first quarter of this year, SOFAZ told Paralel.Az-Economics.

Thus, as of December 31, 2023, the gold reserve of the Fund was 101.8 tons (3,272,974.8 troy ounces), and as of April 1, this figure increased to 104.6 tons (7 billion 499 million dollars). In other words, SOFAZ increased its gold reserves by 2.8 tons or 2.8% in the last three months.

Noted that in the first quarter of this year, the share of gold in the investment portfolio of SOFAZ was 13.2%.
