Ukraine receives 1.5 bln euros in aid from EU

Ukraine has received 1.5 billion euros (about 1.6 billion U.S. dollars) as the second batch of financial assistance from the European Union (EU), the country's Finance Ministry said on Wednesday, Paralel.Az reports.

The aid, which was allocated under the EU's Ukraine Facility program, was directed to the country's state budget, the ministry said.

Ukraine has received a total of 6 billion euros (about 6.4 billion dollars) from the EU this year.

The EU has provided 31 billion euros (about 33.1 billion dollars) in budget support for Ukraine since February 2022, becoming the country's largest financial donor.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said Kiev is counting on obtaining a total of 16 billion euros (about 17.1 billion dollars) from the EU this year.
