Azerbaijan’s Parliament, New Caledonian Congress sign MoU
A Memorandum on Cooperation has been signed between the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and the Congress of New Caledonia, Paralel.Az reports.
The Memorandum was signed by Sahiba Gafarova on behalf of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan and by Rok Vamitan on behalf of the Congress of New Caledonia.
According to the document, the National Assembly of Azerbaijan acknowledges the right of the people of New Caledonia to determine their own governance and will inform the international community about the matter.
Furthermore, according to the Memorandum, in order to strengthen friendship relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and New Caledonia, the parties will develop inter-parliamentary cooperation, facilitate the establishment of permanent relations between the legislative bodies' commissions, committees, and organs, organize reciprocal visits of parliamentary delegations consisting of members of parliament for the purpose of studying and sharing parliamentary and international activity experiences, establish respective groups of deputies for cooperation between parliaments, exchange information about the preparation and adoption of legislative acts, as well as parliamentary cooperation experiences, share legal and other information related to their activities, demonstrate active efforts to explore, discuss, develop, and implement various directions of cooperation in the international parliamentary arena between Azerbaijan and New Caledonia, support the exchange of positive experiences to ensure the effective functioning of legislative bodies, and support the establishment of permanent relations between the Office of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan and the Congress of New Caledonia for the purpose of conducting experience exchanges.
The document also notes that regular meetings will be organized to implement the objectives of the Memorandum of Cooperation.
