Iraq to send 10 mln liters of fuel to Gaza
Iraq announced on Sunday its decision to send 10 million liters of fuel to the Gaza Strip and offer medical treatment to wounded people from the enclave in Iraqi hospitals, Paralel.Az reports.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Council of Ministers as the government seeks to help Palestinians amid the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza, according to a statement released by the Iraqi Prime Minister Media Office.
Iraq had previously delivered fuel and medical assistance to Gaza in coordination with Egyptian authorities.
Israel launched relentless airstrikes and a ground offensive in Gaza to retaliate against a surprise Hamas attack in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and more than 200 others were taken hostage.
Israel's attacks have killed over 33,000 people in Gaza and its blockade has caused a catastrophic humanitarian situation in the enclave.
