Detainee in Dagestan confesses he brought weapons for Crocus attackers

One of the members of a terrorist cell detained in Dagestan said during interrogation that he had brought weapons from Makhachkala to Mytishchi near Moscow for the terrorists who would attack Crocus City Hall, as follows from a video released by the Federal Security Service (FSB), Paralel.Az reports citing TASS.

"I brought weapons for those guys who attacked Crocus City Hall in Moscow. I brought them weapons from Makhachkala to Mytishchi. I only provided them with money and weapons," the detainee says in the video. He admitted that two Kalashnikov assault rifles and 460 rounds of ammunition had been found in his apartment during the search.

The detainees also testified that they had been plotting a terrorist attack at the waterfront in Kaspiysk. One of them immediately after the detention confessed that the bomb was at his home. When asked where they were going to stage an explosion, he answered: "The waterfront in Kaspiysk." Another detainee said the same: "There were plans for a terrorist attack on the waterfront in Kaspiysk or in Victory Park. The bombs were to be blown up in a crowd to hit whoever might be near."

The video showed the process of detention, including the moment the door was opened to the apartment from which a man in slippers on his feet was taken out some time later, as well as the automatic rifles and a handgun seized on the spot. The footage also showed the suspects discussing something near an ATM and either retrieving cash or depositing notes into the machine. According to the FSB, the four foreign nationals detained in Dagestan, identified as members of a terrorist cell, were directly involved in financing and supplying wepons to the perpetrators of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert center near Moscow, as well as in plotting a terrorist attack at a crowded site in Kaspiysk.
