Memorial concert at Crocus City Hall starts with minute of silence

 

A minute of silence in remembrance of the victims of the Crocus City Hall attack was declared before the beginning of the charity concert near the makeshift memorial at the attack scene, Paralel.Az reports citing TASS.

Candles were arranged as cranes near the stage; many listeners also had candles in their lamps. During the minute of silence, video footage of cranes flying into the sky was displayed on the Crocus facade, followed by pictures of the people, killed in the attack.

The minute of silence stated at 19:52 Moscow time - this was approximately the time when the tragic events started on March 22. After the listeners honored the memory of the victims, a music ensemble led by director Valery Gergiyev entered the stage. During the performance, several survivors entered the stage to tell how they managed to survive the attack.

People kept bringing flowers in remembrance of the victims throughout the day. Security measures have been reinforced, with the crowd being separated in several streams, and metal detectors have been installed.
