Moscow warns Armenia on consequences of its anti-Russian policy
During the contacts, Moscow discussed the Western countries involving Yerevan in the anti-Russian course with Armenia in order to warn about the risks, some arguments were admitted by Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said to RIA Novosti, Paralel.Az reports.
“Unfortunately, we have been observing this tendency for a long time and we have been talking about it. We are talking with our Armenian counterparts and partners, as well as in very confidential manner, with only one goal - to warn,” Zakharova stressed.
She added that Moscow’s some arguments were admitted by Armenian side, even some measures were taken: “We understand very well that states and the collective West as a whole have been using tactics to manipulate countries and peoples to treat them as tools for decades and centuries. If there were no such examples in our region, one would probably think that the United States and the collective West would not apply this tactic concretely to the post-Soviet space.”
According to Zakharova, Moscow sincerely wants Armenia to preserve its sovereignty and pursue a policy based on national interests.
