Kazakhstan's Ex-Minister of Agriculture Erkinbek Choduev detained
The State National Security Committee obtained the information about corruption and fraudulent activities of ex-Minister of Agriculture Erkinbek Choduev, Paralel.Az reports citing AkiPress.
During the criminal probe launched into money laundering, it was established that during his tenure as Executive Director of Limatex Cotton Corporation, the ex-Minister of Agriculture illegally privatized land plots more than 50 ha in size in Osh and Jalal-Abad regions and sold to private persons. The caused damage is estimated at 500 million soms.
Erkinbek Choduev was Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Reclamation from May 30, 2019 to October 21, 2020.
He was Executive Director, Deputy Director General and then Director General of Limatex Cotton Corporation from 1999 to 2011.
