Azerbaijan has taken concrete steps towards the normalization of relations with Armenia, FM Bayramov says
"Since January 2021, Azerbaijan has taken concrete steps towards the normalization of interstate relations with Armenia," Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this in his statement to Azerbaijani and Turkish journalists within the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Paralel.Az's Türkiye correspondent reports.
Azerbaijan presented 5 known basic principles in 2022 and these principles were accepted by Armenia.
"At the same time, this was positively evaluated by the international community. The draft document prepared by Azerbaijan and whose discussions have been ongoing for more than a year is based on those principles and was formed on the basis of norms and principles of international law. Our expectations are that this issue will be resolved according to the law, that the parties will recognize each other's territorial integrity, that a peace treaty will be agreed upon, and that the parties will accept it. This peace should be built on such terms that it would be durable and not cause any open questions in the future.
