Certain forces in Europe cannot come to terms with Azerbaijan's victory - Speaker

Certain forces in Europe cannot come to terms with the reality of Azerbaijan's victory, said Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova during a meeting of Parliament held today, Paralel.Az reports.

The Speaker said that it has been decided to cease engagement of the delegation of Azerbaijan at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE): “This decision was made in response to baseless and false accusations against Azerbaijan. The political reasons for a grudge against Azerbaijan are obvious to everyone. Certain forces in Europe cannot come to terms with the reality of Azerbaijan's victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and its restoration of sovereignty. This is a severe blow to the new realities in the South Caucasus."

The Parliament’s Speaker noted that the activity of the Milli Majlis aims to support President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev's visionary domestic and foreign policy at the legislative level.
