Iran hails the Joint Statement of Azerbaijan and Armenia on releasing the detainees, the spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nasser Kanani said at a briefing today, Paralel.Az reports.

He noted that Iran considers this a positive step:

“Iran is ready to contribute to the sustainable peace in the Caucasus region. Achieving sustainable peace requires strengthening the language of peace and the environment of trust between the regional parties. We hope that these measures will lead to peace and stability between the two sides. The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to assist the both countries for regional peace and security."
