A groundbreaking ceremony for the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline has been held, Paralel.Az reports.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on an official visit to the country, attended the ceremony.

The heads of state laid a foundation stone for the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline.

On September 25, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Igdir-Nakhchivan natural gas pipeline was held in Nakhchivan after the one-on-one meeting of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Paralel.Az's correspondent reports from Nakhcivan.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan are participating in the foundation laying ceremony for the Ighdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline.

Note that on December 15, 2020, a memorandum of understanding on the construction of the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline was signed between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in Ankara.

According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, dated February 10, 2022, appropriate funds have been allocated from the state budget for the construction of the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline.
