A two-meter section of the Great Wall of China collapsed in an earthquake on January 8 in the Chinese province of Qinghai.
The wall collapsed in Shandan, northwest of Gansu province, 114 kilometers from the epicenter. This part of the wall dates back to the period of the Thousand Empires (1368-1644).
