As Paralel.az reports, Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this in an interview with DPA. “NATO has never promised to expand. Even the founding agreement of our organization says that any European state can become a member of the alliance, ”Stoltenberg said.
According to him, the Helsinki Final Act of 1970 and 1990, the Charter of Paris, the Russia-NATO Founding Act and many other agreements clearly show that each state can freely determine its own destiny.
