The great victory that you won last year in the 44-day Patriotic War as the Supreme Commander in our occupied lands for almost thirty years was a glorious Day of Victory, Honor and Pride not only in the history of Azerbaijan, but also in the history of all Turkic peoples. ...
Therefore, awarding you at the VIII Summit in Istanbul with the Highest Order of the Turkic Peace was also a sign of gratitude to the brotherly Turkic peoples of the same origin, a sign of honor for the liberation of Turkish lands from slavery and occupation.
This award has also been your service to the Turkish Union for many years, being one of the main initiators of all the work done in connection with the Turkish Union and supporting it.
You have always encouraged the creation of a common diaspora of the Turkic peoples, the importance of their struggle for the same goals, supported important initiatives in this direction.
The Center for Cooperation between Azerbaijanis and other Turkic-speaking peoples, which I head, is also based on your "road map" in establishing relations with Azerbaijani and Turkish diaspora organizations and implementing joint projects and continues this policy. We believe that today, as always in history, Azerbaijan will be the main center and inspiring member of the Turkic world.
