The first online conference of the NGO Oversight Center, established at the initiative of the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum with the participation of a number of NGOs, on April 23, 2021, on "Ensuring public control and the tasks ahead." The conference was attended by representatives of a number of government agencies, NGOs and the media.

He stressed the importance of expanding public control in the country in accordance with the call of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to civil society institutions. He noted that the signing of the President's decree of the Agency for State Support to NGOs is highly appreciated by NGOs and expressed gratitude on behalf of civil society.

Then Rauf Zeyni gave the floor to Vusal Guliyev, responsible officer of the Department for Work with NGOs and Communications of the Presidential Administration.

Vusal Guliyev first thanked for the conference. He said that at a time of reforms in all spheres of society, significant economic changes, our citizens should not hesitate to report their problems to the relevant agencies, in this process, NGOs and the media should play an important role in exercising public control. In addition, public control organizations should organize their principles of action at a high level, discussions should be organized with the participation of influential intellectuals, public and political figures, citizens who take an active position in this processnoted that he appreciated.Speaking about the importance of public control in the country, Vusal Guliyev said that officials of a state with strong public control feel more responsible, do their job better and solve existing problems faster. This also plays an important role in the development of the state.

Then the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva made a welcoming speech. Welcoming the conference participants, Sabina Aliyeva said that the conference covers very important issues for our society, the existence of a control mechanism in the public administration is one of the main conditions, public control is the focus of the state and ensuring this public controlseeks support from civil society institutionsHe also expressed support for the activities of NGOs in this process as the Commissioner for Human Rights.

During the conference, a number of government agencies - the head of the Department of Human Rights and Public Relations of the Ministry of Justice Aynur Sabitova, the representative of the Agency for Small and Medium Business Development Nadir Adilov spoke and expressed their views on the subject.

The speakers of this conference of the NGO Control Center, Fikret Yusifov and Eyyub Huseynov, stressed the importance of the establishment and operation of the center. Speaking about the economic spheres of the country, Fikret Yusifov brought to the attention of the participants a number of problems. Eyyub Huseynov stressed the importance of resolving many issues in the field of consumer protection.

Conference participants Novella Jafaroglu, Gorkhmaz Ibrahimli, Saadat Bananyarli, Ilham Ismayilov, Ahmad Abasbeyli, Irada Rzazade, Ahmad Gashamoglu, Azer Aliyev, Zemfira Agayeva, Varis Yolchuyev, Ruslan Atakishiyev, Mahsati Huseynova, Ruslan Guliyev, Eynulla Kheyrullayev, Galib Israyil Isgandarov, Mehdi Mehdiyev, Vamig Babayev spoke about the existing problems of society and the provision of public control.
In conclusion, Sabina Aliyeva and Vusal Guliyev thanked the participants for their views and activities in the field of public control. Rauf Zeyni said that the proposals and issues mentioned here are in the attention of the Public Oversight Center of the NGO, and this center will work to ensure public control with the joint participation of NGOs and government agencies.
