'Immediately after the presidential election last year, heirs of martyrs, those who did not receive assistance and allowances, were allocated by my order a grant in the amount of 11,000 manats each. The process of issuing benefits has already begun.'
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of socioeconomic development in 2018 and the upcoming tasks.
It should be noted that for some time now, some families of martyrs have expressed dissatisfaction with the absence of their names on the lists, and are knocking on the doors of the Presidential Administration.
Ilham Aliyev clarified this issue too.
'Now there are about 10 thousand heirs of the martyrs on the list. Each of them will receive 11,000 manats. At the same time, the lists are refined, proposals are made in connection with this issue. I have already spoken on this issue. Here, of course, the principle of social justice must be respected. Law and justice. I am sure that in this matter we will achieve the desired. That is, this initiative, this step is taken to ensure that families who did not receive benefits in due time, will receive them. And we provide it. Once again I want to say that the lists are being clarified and further comments will be made on this issue,' the head of state emphasised.
