'Work is being carried out in Azerbaijan, analysis is being carried out to improve the environmental situation. First of all, the areas polluted by oil are cleaned. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has been given an appropriate instruction and funds have been allocated. Oil-polluted places on the Absheron Peninsula will be completely cleaned, gardens and lakes will be created in these places, landscaping will be carried out,' said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in his closing speech at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of socio-economic development in the first nine months of 2018 and the tasks ahead, informs the Press-Service of the Azerbaijani Presidency.
According to the head of state, work is also being done to create new sewage treatment plants on the Caspian coast: 'The situation here cannot completely satisfy us. Strict warning has been made to air polluting enterprises. In the evening, the city of Baku is covered in smoke. In celebration houses, smoke is emitted into the air without purification. Therefore, a strict warning is made: celebration houses, consumer services that do not observe, will be closed. I have instructed to prepare a legal framework for this. As far as I know, after the first warning, many enterprises began to install sewage treatment plants. I advise all of them to speed up this matter, since there will be no second warning, they will simply be closed. Therefore, in a short time, in all large and small enterprises, objects that pollute the air, emit smoke and carcinogen into the atmosphere, treatment facilities should be installed, and relevant structures should monitor this. I instructed the Baku City Executive Authority, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources to immediately inform me, and measures will be taken immediately.
There are fewer cases of tree felling, but they have not yet been completely eliminated. Once again I want to say: if someone cuts a tree without a conclusion of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, let him blame himself,'said Ilham Aliyev.
