On Monday, September 17, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intends to discuss the development of events in Syria with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was stated on Friday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu at a press conference in Pakistan, NTV television channel reports.
'We want to achieve a political settlement of the Syrian crisis. President Erdogan will discuss the situation in Syria with President Putin on Monday,' Cavusoglu said according to NTV.
Meanwhile, as expected, on Friday a meeting of the assistants of the leaders of Russia, Germany, Turkey and France, dedicated to Syria, will be held in Istanbul. Earlier, plans to hold such talks were reported by the presidential aide Yuri Ushakov. According to him, he himself and a 'number of experts' are planning on September 14 to take part in the meeting on Syria in Istanbul. He specified that the assistants to the heads of state can discuss the agenda of a possible quadripartite summit on Syria, which may also take place in Istanbul.
