On Friday morning, during operative-search activities conducted by law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan, Rashad Boukkishiyev, accused of murdering a police officer in Ganja, has been neutralised, says a joint statement by the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service.
According to the information, R.Boyukkishiyev has been neutralised in the territory of Shamkir district. He was shot while offering armed resistance against law enforcement officers.
Let us note, that Rashad Boukkishiyev had previous conviction for intentional murder and robbery. He also served time for the murder of his mother in 2007.
After leaving prison, he went to Russia. But even there, 9 months later he was arrested for robbery. On July 14, 2015, under Article 161.2 (robbery) of the Criminal Code he was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months imprisonment.
On July 10, during the riots in Ganja organised by a group of religious radicals consisting of 150-200 people, two police officers were killed at the hands of the rebels: Deputy Chief of the Main Police Department of Ganja, Colonel Ilgar Balakishiyev, and Deputy Chief of the Nizami District (Ganja) Police Department, Lieutenant-Colonel Samad Abbasov. As a result of the operational-investigative measures, two suspects were identified: Rashad Boukkishiyev and Farrukh Gasimov. On July 11, Farrukh Gasimov was detained by law enforcement officers.
