Under the criminal case on the riots in Ganja, 9 people were arrested, informs a joint statement of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the information, today, on the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev Chief of the State Security Service Madat Guliyev, Interior Minister Ramil Usubov and Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov went to Ganja, where they held an extended meeting with the leadership and members of the investigative and operational group created in connection with the events.
It was reported about the detention and arrest of 9 people, who participated in the bloody crime, the victims of which were two policemen.
Heads of state structures gave additional instructions in connection with the intensive conduct of investigative measures to capture and detain other participants of the crime.
After the meeting, Chief of the State Security Service Madat Guliyev, Interior Minister Ramil Usubov and Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov took part in a memorial ceremony for Police Colonel Ilgar Balakishiyev and Police Lieutenant-Colonel Samad Abbasov killed on July 10 during the prevention of a grave breach of public order in Ganja by religious radicals.
On behalf of the head of state, they expressed condolences to the families and friends of the police officers.
