Over 17,400 children die in Gaza since October 2023
At least 17,492 children have died in the Gaza Strip because of Israel’s continuing military activities since the beginning of the current escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in early October 2023, the enclave’s authorities said, Paralel.Az reports citing TASS.
This number includes 211 newborns and 825 children under 1. At least 35,060 minors have lost one or both parents and around 3,500 are suffering from undernutrition.
According to Gaza’s authorities, 204 shelters for displaced persons have been attacked in the Gaza Strip. Nearly 130 educational establishments have been ruined and more than 340 sustained serious damage after Israeli bombardments. Some 750,000 schoolchildren are deprived of the possibility to attend classes.
In all, according to Gaza’s health ministry, the death toll from the escalation in the enclave nears 44,000, with more than 104,000 people being wounded.
