The United States has no right to exploit and distort human rights issues as a means of interference in the internal affairs, investigation process and the independence of the judiciary," Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aykhan Hajizada stated on X, Paralel.Az reports.

"Fundamental rights and freedoms are fully guaranteed in Azerbaijan. At the same time, as in the United States, citizens serving sentences for criminal offences are subject without any discrimination to the requirements of the relevant laws on penal regimes.

The groundless public demands to release certain individuals convicted under national legislation by a competent court on criminal charges on the basis of political preferences of some foreign governments & politicians cast doubt on true commitment to the rule of law," Aykhan Hajizada added.
