On September 24, 2024, within the framework of the High-Level Week of the 79^th session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Ministry told Paralel.Az.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IAEA and exchanged views on current joint projects and future prospects.

During the meeting, the possibilities for cooperation in the context of Azerbaijan’s hosting of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) were revised.

Other issues of mutual interest were also addressed at the meeting.

At the same time, the signing ceremony of the Country Programme Framework for 2024-2029, aimed at technical cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the IAEA, took place between the sides.
