The reconstruction of the Aghdam-Asgaran-Khojaly-Khankandi highway is rapidly ongoing in accordance with the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated January 13, 2024, Mammad Mammadov, a representative of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads told Paralel.Az.

The 21.6-kilometer section of the highway is being reconstructed according to the 1st technical grade. In this section, the width of the land bed will be 26.5 meters, the width of the traffic section will be 15 meters, and the number of traffic lanes will consist of 4 sections, with two departures and two arrivals.

The construction of water transmission pipes of different diameters, 2 crossings, and 5 bridges along the road are planned.

The highway will allow drivers and passengers who want to go to the cities of Khankandi, Shusha and Lachin from the direction of Barda to continue their movement quickly and safely using this ring road without entering the city of Aghdam. This highway will facilitate transportation in the region and will have a significant impact on the development of agriculture and tourism.
